宿題

長男のクラスの宿題は、水曜日に一週間分出されて、翌週の火曜日に提出する。そう、明日が最後の宿題提出日だ。
今週は、クラスのVIPにもなっているので、その準備もあり、大変な週末となった。
ついでに、Joke Jarの提出期限も明日なので、今日も宿題の清書と、Joke Jarの準備で大わらわとなった。
私もこのところ忙しいので、じっくりと宿題につき合う気になれず、先延ばしにしていたのがいけなかったのだけど。

長男の今週の宿題。
1. no: Think of a "No" rule at home or school. Write five reasons why you think the rule is a good one or a bad one.
2. make: There are many forms of the word 'make'. Examples are:makes, made, making, and maker. Write each of the forms in a complete sentence.
3. than: Write what you think each of the forms in a complete sentence.
"Your eyes are bigger than your stomach"
"Don't bite off more than you can chew"
"Actions speak louder than words"
4. first: Write five cause-and-effect phrases.
(i.e.)First seeds, then flowers; First clouds, then rain;
First Kittens, then cats...
このほかに、計算一枚、"For sure, might be sure"が一枚、Analogyが一枚。

Joke Jarは、Jokeを５つ細い紙に書き、自分で装飾したJarに入れて持っていくというもの。
Jokeと言われても、アメリカンジョークを考えなければならず、この手の宿題の手伝いはとても困る。

一日一つこなしていけばいいのだが、遊んでしまう日もあるし、日本語補習校の宿題もあるので、提出日前は大騒ぎとなる。
