A letter to Y's Teacher

Thank you very much for taking your time for talking about Y's behavior today.

I was very shocked to hear that Y had thrown away your note.
He admitted that that was not the first time to throw away teacher's
note which he didn't want to show me.
He said he had been afraid to be scolded by me.
I have been talking to him that lying is very bad, especially to us, the
parents, however,
he didn't understand the importance of honesty.

When we received the 2nd quarter's report card, my husband and I talked
to him about the importance of concentration. We also talked to him how
rude his attitude to the teachers was.
We prohibited him from drawing comics and pictures at that time.
So when we met at school today, he insisted that he had not been drawing
comics and pictures since we taught so.
We know that his lack of concentration is not only because of those
drawing, but also because of indulging in reveries.

We have been talking to him to do his best for everything. We knew he
tended to spare his efforts and to take less time to do something which
he didn't want to do.

I was sad to know that he had not changed his attitude yet.

My husband and I talked over about today's incident, and then we decided
to prohibit any kind of play he wanted to do, until his teachers
recognize the change in his attitude for studying.

Please let me know when his attitude changes, and please tell us if you
have any idea how we can improve his attitude.

Thank you very much.
